more today

rang a mate to ask for some POR-15 and he say "YEAH" so on with the painting

then rolled it upside down  8O to get a better look at the gutter rot

so with a bit of chopping and cleaning i was left with this

so i've got two options to fix this i can either

drill some hole in the roof so i can get in to weld the repair peice in like this

or cut a bit out and weld the repair peice in and then patch the roof

so any help would be good

thats all folk back to the day job tomorrow

Jellybelly :"2 cheaky little holes that were in need of the treatment"

aaaaaahahahahahhahahahahaha thats well known by me! When ever I touch something on my car I found a new hole which need a treatment.

And this part of your roof problem is the first time to see that someone has a problem over there with rust!  :?

I belieive that the easiest way is like you sad :"cut a bit out and weld the repair peice in and then patch the roof"

…and of course tomorrow back to work

I take my hat off to you sir. Just read all 34 pages. Well I say just, its taken me all morning between having to do work

Truley inspirational. Makes my project, which I thought was bad, look easy!

Really has give me alot of motivation to get cracking.

If there was an award for project of the century, this would certainly win it - even before its finished!

Well done, and keep it up  :D

Cheers,
Rob.

Wow, I take my hat off to you mate. After 3 sittings i have eventually arrived here at the end of your epic journey (well so far), well nearly the end. I had a black mk1 which was on a par with yours. Its now in the scrap yard in the sky. Well after donating various bits to my second project.  Its a pity that you aren't closer to me as i have a good whole roof that i chopped off the black car before i scrapped what was left of the shell.

Keep up the good work. I shall have to update my thread, but i can never find the time to ad the pics etc.   :dontknow:

First Golf, lots of work. I've started so I'll finish!
