ok small update, found some new 6mm allen key bolts for my wheel cylinders as my original items rounded off while trying to remove, belive it or not halfords were the only place i could find them, and they wee stainless too.
this allowed me to get the rear brakes together…
and new brake pipes..
note the new clips where the hard meets the flexi pipe, 36p each from b and b components, maidstone. or tierod69 on ebay..
also had some paint mixed up at halfords, wasn't too sure how good it was going to be, but i used it to paint under the arches, and the results were amazing…
before..
after..
and as the accumulator was originally green, i gave it the once over…
was hoping to get the rear beam back on this weekend but decided to get the small amount of welding done before hand.
took the mk2 to a classic car show on bank holiday monday, heres a few pics..
and a lovely karman ghia..

finaly started to tackle the welding,
cut out and template made..
wheel well cut out…
had to remove the seat support to get to the hole in the inner rear wheel arch..
got the rear light surround welded up, from this..
to this..
also welded up the where the number plate goes, will hopefully get more done tonight.
this is my first welding attempt so very slow, but getting the hang of it.
does any one have a picture of the bracket that holds the fuel gravity vent valve, in the rear wheel arch, as i have to replicate this.
