G60 conversion oil pressure

Post

Right then guys.  I'm so close to having this car finished now and this is the last electrical issue.

I have the usual flashing oil light issue with the annoying buzzer that comes on as soon as you start driving.

I'd just like someone to confirm that I've got the cables on the correct terminals before I change the sensors and oil pump

Blue/black is on the side of the head

Also I'm assuming that the yellow cable and the green/black are high and low pressure (not sure which way round)  but will the fact that it's g60 sensors and not mk1 sensors cause this issue?

One is for the oil pressure low at high rpm, it is a tall white sensor.  On my Cabriolet it is a drk green/black wire.
The other is oil temp and it is a black/or white sensor that has a Light green/black wire going to it. It is possible to get those wires bassackwards.

The oil pressure can on the side of the head has a yellow green and a yellow black going to it.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

usually for mk1 the oil switch in filter housing has blue/black wire, one in the side of the head is yellow. to confirm this is eay, switch the ignition on with both wires disconnected. earth each one, the wire which causes oil light to flash is the one which goes to the switch in the side of the head

Cheers lads.
John got it spot on, put the yellow one on the head sensor and the blue/black on the filter housing.
Oil light comes on with ignition and flashes for a second or 2 after the cars been started then goes out as per every other mk1 I've ever had.
I'll take the car out on Friday and hopefully the buzzer won't kick in.

Thanks again
