The roof does not look to bad, but as suggested check the side tension cables, you can do this by pulling on the side of the roof and if there's no tension they are broken, I bought a set from ebay and they rusted through and broke in 6 months so I made my own fron stainless steel cable covered in a plastic, there is a few guides on the web but depending on what year your car is there is 2 different lengths, early cars upto I think 86 then later roofs from 86 to 93 but I could be wrong on the change over year.
Vinyl roofs do shrink over time as mine is coming to the end of its life and has shrunk more than yours and is sitting higher up on the sides and I have the tension cables fitted so it could just be down to old age.
Not sure on mohair roofs as I've never had one.

i think it's the original roof as the lining is pretty grubby.
how much would these cables be? It's a 91 Clipper
