Brake Mods and Eventually Engine Upgrade`

Hello all,

Ive currently got a 1.3 tin top. Love the car but really want more poke to race around a bit more and also a more comfortable top speed.

Im going to carry out brake mods this summer/autumn and have been doing the larger mk2 servo upgrade but also upgrading the calipers as I currently have a sticky piston on one caliper. Any suggestions to what brake set up to look into and also the parts availability?

The engie upgrade….Im not looking to do straight away but more wanted to get ideas now as I want to fit a suitable brake set up for the engine I finally intend to install to save doing the brakes twice. Looked briefly into 1.8 and 2l 8v and started reading a bit about 16v. I dont want anything mental that is going to be tricky to install and rewire as this will be my first conversion along with help/advice from friends but still want to get the best I can. Any suggestions or advice with this would be great.
