i'm doing the above conversion can anyone tell me everything I will need to do the job? I have an 02a box going in….

Come across the hydro or mechanical clutch scenario 
(Pedal box or cable clutch) 

02a conversion mounts for box

100mm driveshafts to suit 

Clutch/flywheel 

Pedal box from a manual golf for z pedals

Small block speedo cable 

Shifter/gearstick

Edit there's a hydro conversion to. Able clutch on the classifieds section now. You'd prob need to put a hole in bulkhead too for cable of you go that route. And would need reinforcing.

what is the best choice to go with…. Hydro or mechanical?

Hydro for you mate. Without a doubt. As you don't have a clutch to start with, its counter productive to install one. 

Where's the best place to get the parts?

Various ways to do it fella, have a read up on it. 

Get a full pedal box setup  

Im doing the same thing with my Mk1 jetta apart from im going mechanical (sorry to jump on your thread), hence the reason i bumped into your thread. My cars a LHD and trying to get enough information to get this done my self. Any suggestions?
