1.5 to 16v fuel pump wiring?

Post

Help needed please.

Car was originally a 1.5 but had a mk2 1.6 carb fitted when I got it. I've now fitted a kr on bike carbs (full conversion from another mk1) but am stuck when it comes to wiring up the fuel pump/pumps.

I have the in line pump he was using (was mounted in the spare wheel well) and have a gti sender. The sender has a 3 pin connection where my original is 2 pin and how do I go about powering the in line pump?

Hope this makes sense :)

you could tap the 3rd pin into same feed as the inline pump :)

i would power them both from a kjet fuel relay for safety, what fusebox is it early ceramic or later blade?

Later blade. Will I need to run separate new wiring to them both then?

you have 2 choices, either tap into the existing fuel pump wiring or add a relay and power both from that :)

since its later fusebox its pretty easy, fit the kjet relay in the factory spot and either add a wire to e/14 (needs large size round pin) or add a 9.53mm spade (standard size, available all over) to N with an inline fuse. you want one without a rev limiter I'd assume, GSF sell them part number 935VG0090

E/14 is fed from the fuel pump fuse, but N is not hence the inline fuse

edit: this will help with the fusebox wiring:
