stupid manual choke

My choke light keeps flickering n like a sodding strobe light. goes off when i touch the choke lever in the car and its not afecting my idling, so i know its just sticking on a wee bit. is it easy to adjust the tension or whatever?!!? to stop the flickering- its soooooooooo anoying.

sounds like the cable needs adjusting......or take the bulb out of light

It sounds like you have just a little bit of slack in the choke cable that is just preventing the dash knob returning fully - there is a very simple switch on the choke cable just behind the dashboard that operates the light. The fact that the light goes out when you touch the choke knob suggests this.

Not clear what carburettor you have but you need to slacken the choke cable clamping screw at the carburettor, pull the wire through the clamp slightly and then retighten the clamp screw - make sure the dash knob is pushed fully home whilst you do it (get someone to help).
