Crankcase oil seperator fitting

Hi all

I am working on a 1300 mk2 polo, which is a spare car for when my MK1 Golf gti is off the road.  The query may relate to same engine MK1 golfs.  I am trying to fit a crankcase breather oil separator (domed shaped thing below the inlet manifold).  It is a mare.  I have already bashed the new one in and have decided to drop the engine out to get better access.  Can anyone advise on how to fit it without purchasing specialist tools?
