1.1 holding back on pulling off.

Hey guys.

i've recently noticed that after i take my mk1 1.1 on a dual carriageway and do 60mph for about 5 mins that when i pull up at a set of lights and go to pull away, there's no response for a split second. then he just goes!
any ideas what this could be?? i've thought its something carb related such as it getting blocked or something but i'm not too sure.

Check filler neck for rust, if rust is found youve got rust in the fuel system!

It is very difficult to cure this problem, which involves flushing the entire fuel system!!!!

But it could also be that the warm up pipe is missing or not connected?
a common problem on small engined golfs, this would actually cause the the fuel to freeze inside the carb.

i think its the filler neck. can get a new one though and have got a new tank. will have to do it at the weekend. yippee another weekend getting covered in car mess lol
