Best Show VW Trade Stands

Over the last 18 months or so, I have been to a few Classic Car and Autojumble Shows, mainly in the south.

The first last year with the Mk1 Golf Owners Club annual gathering. Unfortunately no trade stands. I did not attend this year.

I went to the Pageant of Motoring Show in Romsey last year and this year. I saw one Beetle last year and this year one Golf Mk1 in the car park. The stands were good and plentyful but very little VW support.

Today, I went to the International Autojumble at Beaulieu Motor Museum, absolutely a massive assortment of trade stands, but again very little VW support. I saw one immaculate Cabrio in the car sale arena.

My question is, which auto shows in this country are the best with plenty of VW trade stands particularly for the Mk1? or do we have to attend european shows, if so, which ones?

You need to attend general vw shows like i have this year
Dub Freeze……….. Stafford, trade stands but very little Mk1 related.

Ultimate Dubs Telford some trade stands poor selection of mk1 bits few auto jumble stalls

VW All Types North Wales smallish show but good selection of stands and a good few mk1 bits on Auto jumble stands I got a parcel shelve twin headlamp grille with lights and other small bits ?25 the lot.

VW North West Tatton park Cheshire many Trade stands and auto jumble stalls good selection of mk1 bits

VW festival Leeds many trade and auto jumble stalls good mk1 selection

VW Action Santa Pod some trade stands not much Mk1 related

Seems the North of the UK has good shows and stalls.

Dont ask what your club can do for you, but what can you do for your club?

Thanks for the comments, it seems to me the best sources are Ebay, CQs, GSF and Eurocarparts. Most of them with the additional cost of P&P!.

Players is next sunday (20th Sept) (might be an autojumble not sure). Edition 38 had a reasonable jumble sale and trade stands.

Unfortunatly getting traders to attend shows is very difficult

At this years mk1 show, CQ's had a huge trade stand, but was one of the very few that took up the offer - hopefuly next year will be better

No one can force people to have a trade stall, what you need to remember is that most people run the businesses monday - friday, last thing they want to do is give up a full weekend as well..

but best trade/autojumbles was always the older, more well established shows - but again most dont cater for the mk1 - Dubfreeze, stanford hall, slough swap meet and VW action are huge shows which have a massive air cooled following and normally a good selection of watercooled people too, GTI International didnt have a bad autojumble either

For next years Club show I'd love to say we'll have loads of traders/autojumble, but we cant force them to attend, even a free stand doesnt liek to bring them out..
I think the power of selling online/over the phone/ on ebay etc has taken a lot away from a good rummage through general odds n sods at autojumbles…

Players if last year was anything to go on was like show cars only and club stands only…
