You need the rear brake set up including stub axles from a Mk2 Gti.

unbolt your old stuff, bolt on the new stuff!

You will need to use the right brakepipe connectors to fit the calipers and it may also be adviseable to fit some sort of brake bias thingy as they can be prone to rear lockup (with tin tops anyway!).
Not sure which handbrake cables you need to use though…Probably Mk2 items!

Caddy wheel base is longer so might struggle with handbrake cables.  There are companies that'll make up cables to your requirements.

But ask yourself why you want to fit disks?  the caddy's rear brakes were designed to work with a good load in the back.  I rekon all you'll do is go around locking the back up!

isn't the best option for improved braking is to change the servo/master cylinder for a Mk2 16v one?

Yep, I agree with this. Have the larger servo/master cylinder on my car and it made a wor;d of difference along with new brake fluid etc etc. First time I maganed to lock the brakes at speed !!!!

you will need handbrake cables off 16v scirocco these can be bought from vw or i think gcp do them.
Go for the later callipers off mk4 golf (dont seize  like mk2s)you will then need some flexis made up to fit mk4 calliper.
I know alot of people on here say stick with the drums but im fed up of having to keep adjusting them  to have a good brake pedal.so disks is the way forward for me

LOL - Your points about the caddy are very valid ones, if a little irrelevant!
