roof sheets up
Tacked some thick plastic to the OSB board to keep the roof dry, when the entire roof is completed I will put a rubber roof on.
knocked through, this a rough cut just to get the Golf in
Then cleared up
Pretty dank in the old part!
Monday we will take the old roof down and get the sloped bricks removed ready for the new bricks to be added.

I suppose it's one way to work of the extra christmas pounds we all put on due to too much food and drink.
Can't believe how far you've got.
I'm currently clearing out the spare room for you to come and stay for a week to get mine done , let me know when you're free

Monday old roof off, remove sloping bricks and cut remaining section
Tuesday building walls on either sides with wall plates plus new lintel at main garage door end.
Probably rest on Wednesday and to let the walls harden.
Thursday joist hangers and joists, then roof boards on Friday and hope for dry weather to put the rubber on Saturday maybe Then I can start thinking about power and drain I plan to insulate all surfaces once the interior has dried out a bit.

Got lots done, temperature pending (the fastening adhesive for the roof needs to be done above a min temperature) it looks like we may have the rubber roof attached on Saturday! Tomorrow we should have the joists finished, fascia attached and OSB boarding screwed down .

The rubber roof went down surprisingly well.
I'm really pleased with the internal space. Just needs a bit of finishing and storage space.
I have an insulated electric roller door ordered up to replace the old door.
Next week the drain should be in, gutter up, remaining piers built up to the joists and the middle opened up by cutting the bricks jutting out on either side. Following week should be electrics hopefully

Glad to hear the rubber roof is ok, I'll be going for that too for my flat roof bit. Is it easy to do? I've only done the old mineral felt type flat roofs before. I was speaking to 'Rubber roofs 4 U' I think (gotta be careful on the internet with that address I found! there's some odd people in the world!) and they seemed quite good. Can i ask who you used?
Also your lintel supplier and your door supplier too please
I really like the colour of the brick too, looks smart.
You gotta be a happy man?

I used https://www.rubber4roofs.co.uk, I think it is the same place you've mentioned. Couldn't rate them highly enough. There is a calculator to work out how much you need and it calculates the trims and adhesives, basically everything you need. I used their classic bond one piece system. The rubber is very tough.borednow said

Dad and I almost had a heart attack lifting it on the roof. It came as a bundle on a pallet, dad reckoned it weighed 400lbs for 11m x 5m. There was quite a bit left as due to the staggered nature I had to get wider than necessary.
Very easy to put down. I had dad and brother in law to help out. There are loads of training videos on their website, the bit that is quite difficult is manipulating the sheet and watching you don't fall off the side of the roof with the sheer weight of the sheet. Took about an hour to glue the sheet down and then about the same to tack the trims on.
I used Condell Ltd for the lintels. Very good price and quick delivery. The bricks are IBSTOCK golden multi buff which were meant to match the LBC golden buffs.
There is a bit of a colour difference with the existing bricks as they are over 60 years old so much lighter with lichen and sun exposure and the motar needs to dry as it's quite red at the moment but will go much lighter when it sets. I need to do some final pointing and maybe a touch of brick acid in places but really happy with it overall

They'll always be a colour difference on the bricks as you say due to age etc. Especially as LBC is no longer around.
At least you weren't trying to match imperial bricks, like we have to fir the old railway viaducts and bridges it's a flaming nightmare. We end up having to have them made!
Good to hear the roofing system is reasonably easy. As I'm going to have sky lights it'll be a bit trickier but I'm sure we'll manage. A bit of an idea on the time frame is also good to have. Luckily the weather held for you.
