Re: mirrors, The MK1 Caddy had 'tall' mirrors of a similar design.

In theory bigger mirrors are a good idea with the potential limited rear views on a commercial vehicle, not having side/rear windows and/or a load blocking the view.

However the tall mirrors gave excellent views of sky, tree tops and roofs of buildings not a wide angle view of the road at head height. Suppose they were for looking at the kerb when reversing but merging with traffic on slip roads could be fun.

A failure of the usually reliable German logic?

Starting to get the back sorted,flash band 8x4 strip’s stuck on the inner panels before i get the insulation in.This should help keep her quite.

Got stuck into the megavan smoke lining carpet today very easy to use,all panels except the tailgate covered only trial fitted at the moment,also started to insulate the panels,sliding door done first.

More insulation, bulk head trimmed and top edge along drivers side trimmed,picked up a small folding table for the Autocube perfect hight for standing at when out side.

If it does not move trim it lol ,plastic seat removed and both sides trimmed.

You've got a very tidy looking Syncro now, inside looks excellent!  :cool:

Great to get that extra hour of light in the evenings,was able to get some more of the panels covered and fitted,sliding door panels and tailgate insulated and panel covered and fitted also covered the 2 cork blocks i fitted to the fold down seat,picked up some longer panel clips to help hold the panels.

More insulating,started into the roof,also got the sliding door pillar covered well pleased with the results so far.

What soundproofing are you using? It looks a 1 piece item?

I used similar in my MK2 but only found sheets approx. 300x200mm

All day in the van roof insulated,roof edge above panels lined and rear lined,engine bulkhead lined and rubber mat over engine lined  fire extinguisher fitted,van washed and polished ready for DUBSHED VW show tomorrow.

Well its been a long road to get the van to this point so took her down to Dubshed Ireland’s biggest VW show held in the Kings Hall Belfast and we got runner up in the water-cooled transporter section,can’t belief it lol and the amount of people wanting to talk about the van was unreal,really caused a stir van wise.

Picked up a pair of Heko wind deflectors for free from a fellow VW owner,just needed some new sticky tape,used some thin number plate tape.
