Sorting through the loft and come across a few brochures from my collection.

Nice collection, got a few of them, but most of my VW stuff is from mid 80s to mid 90s.

The Van, Driver. And formel E ones must be pretty rare.

Met a fellow enthusiast today who is in the middle of restoring his 1983 GTI, along side his MK1 Helios blue clipper, and he said he's never seen a better incentive to get his back on the road. He even mentioned he'd give 20k for her but she's worth more to me than that.

Just looking through old paper work and the service booklet, it turns out my Golf was first bought by a German and he bought her in the UK and shipped her back to Germany and for 6 months the Golf lived in Germany on German plates, then was re-imported back to the UK in 83 and first registered on UK roads.

It's amazing what you can find out if you read through a history file - sometimes you find you have parts fitted to an engine you never knew about!

Yes, I even have the original registration number the car had in Germany. Im thinking of getting the plates made up for her for shows and to add to the history of the car.

Won top 10 best in show at #OhSoRetro show today. Over 600 cars and one of the best shows I've ever seen.
