the route for europe is planned out now  ;D hopefully the old girl will be up to the task  :lol:

we will be going to hull and getting the boat across to rotterdam, so its not entirely correct

head is now back after being skimmed, valves seated and new guides fitted.

shouldnt have any more suprises now

having a terrible time with this car lately. had to send the head back off for more work, need to remove the rear section of the headlining as the tailgate needs removing and re painting..

and also the repair on the door hasnt worked out as well as i had hoped. this is the most i can get it closed after fitting the door seal

Have you had the door striker pin off ? My door was kicking out at the bottom so moved the striker pin in towards the interior a bit and it has pulled it in.

i had the bottom of the door repaired as it was rotted. its now sitting to close to the car, or its not straight. havent quite worked it out yet.

its not the striker mate, i had to move the striker away from the car so i could get it on the 2nd click. thats as far as it closes without putting a ton of force on it  :(

winston has sorted anothe door out for me thank god. one less thing to worry about. engine is 95% done, just need to clean the 5 speed box up, paint it and fit it along with the new clutch.

Its ok dude, well… sent it off to have it re-bored with new pistons pressed onto the con rods. head skimmed and valves re seated.

apart from that everything else me and the pops did in the garage :)

Ah right fair enough, just someone called 'mikediesel' just bought some mk1 headlights off me on ebay, just a coincidence then!

engine is on hold until i can get some new driveshaft oil seals. should be here any day now.

meanwhile i have started on the seats, one done and ready to go to the trimmers



i had to swap the seat frames over from a set of cabby seats i had to the series 1 seats. (for the tilt mechanism)
