im made up with it. its like new, just need everything else to match now lol
More repairs this weekend
The A post has had a dodgy repair
Plate fell out leaving a gaping hole lol
Leaving the A post for now until I decide the best way to do it
My dad helping me with the welds
Prepping areas for welding….
Folded some steel and began to mould it to fit…
then i realised that half of what I was grinding was wax oil. So now that's all out and I'm left with this
I had to re-design my plate lol
Like a glove!!
Moved on to the rear of the car
All done. Not the best job in the world, but I'm happy with it
Also got the support plate welded up. My cousin is going to line the back panel up when he comes down. Slowly getting better at welding too, however the holes in my hand say otherwise haha
Also borrowed an engine stand for when the bodywork is done

Good work there chap and better to have holes in your hand than in the metal - I hate it when you're welding and blow holes, takes much longer to fix than your hand!

so a few little bits and bobs have been sorted.
made some dashboard brackets (what a pain these was, they look easy but they wasnt lol)
replaced another dash mount, colour match is slightly off though lol
the door check strap had broke from the inside. so had to cut that open to sort it out
and a bag of powder coated goodies
Couldn't tell if my cousin was welding or having a nap lol More rot cut out and replaced Tomorrow I need to sort these bits out And get these welded on Last owner had a heavy foot. The accelerator pedal has nearly been ripped off the bulk head

I think the most difficult bit will be to weld a new pc where the boot lip has rot…..
My Jetta has rust in the similar place.

Car is now off the spit and these are my new axle stands lol
Lined the new rear panel up
Cut out, dad cleaning up the edges
Working out the cut lines
Found this in my replacement panel
Had to repair the replacement panel lol
Random pic…
Welded in, was a pain joining it up though
Cousin welding inside the car
Replacingore rot
Few skims of filler in, and more welding being done
Rear end getting final touches
Lining rear arch up
Cutting both panels
Cut out
Perfect fit
cleaned, reshaped, sealed then tacked
Fitted
Tried to line the doors and wings up and found that the hinges on the drivers door are goosed, so I got on to TPS and ordered some new hinges for tomorrow. Also got these made up today by my uncle within the hour lol
Bonnet back out
Test fit and everything lines up great. Front panel is now welded on as well
