SORT OF NEW PROJECT 1.5 GL GOLF

I bought this car in 2014 after viewing it at the AGM. I already had a 1990 Cabriolet which i have since sold to fund this project.
After purchase I gave this car to a friend who was going to renovate it for me. However this never really got started due to major personal issues my mate was going through and the car as well as him disappeared off the radar.

Several years later I managed to track the car down as it was being stored at a house locally. Unfortuntaly there was much building work going on at the property and the car had been knocked around a little, The breaks had seized and tyres were flat. I had it trailored to a local mechanic to get it back on the road.

Mechanicaly sound and with a fresh MOT I now embark on the bodywork and then interior. I intend to bring EKL i have named him to the AGM this year. He wont be finished but a work in progress.

Also I have been using him as my daily whilst my other car is broken.

Lovely 5-door! I'm glad you've got it back.

It's always a nice bonus when you can do a rolling restoration - at least you get to drive it most of the time.

Can anyone please confirm that the colour of my Golf is Gambia Red

Have you checked the sticker inside the boot lid for the paint code? I'm pretty certain it's Gambia red, Paint code LA3B I believe.

Booked in for body work on 19th together with fixing all small niggles. Then respray clean the interior. Then i will refurb the wheels. maybe enjoy all then sell so can finance another project
