Just read through this gutted about the head gasket you after you was getting there

I know bud! I am gutted too. I've just been looking at new engine gasket sets and think I will be forking out about £120 for it because there is no point just fitting a new head gasket!
It's so tempting to just put Ruby in the garage, get Goly the golf out and start the full restoration on a car I actually want to get back on the road!
This is supposed to be a quick project to get a daily driver!  :P

Right, after much thought about this, the time has come to stop playing with this car!  :'(
Ruby is taking up too much time and the wife is desperate for me to get my other Mk1 back on the road! :P
Yesterday I took Goly The Golf out of the garage and put Ruby in its place! The plan now is to strip Goly, get her fully restored and once complete I will start again on Ruby!
Keep an eye on my other thread for progress on Goly and hopefully it will be to a much higher standard than what you have seen me do to Ruby.
Thanks for reading this thread so far and I will leave you with a couple of pictures of Goly.
Cheers,
Britney.

Hi @VwChlo_
I have just deleted CJU 902Y from my car register so feel free to add it to yours.
Could I be cheeky? I'm curious as to how much you paid for the car? I sold it to a guy who seemed really genuine! Said he wanted to strip to a bare shell and restore back to standard but then the next thing I know its up for sale again! Strange as I thought the car is a very good base for an easyish restoration!
I don't mind if you don't want to tell me how much, I'm just being nosey.
Good luck with the car and like I said in the other post, if you need anything and think I can help just PT me on here.
Cheers,
Britney
