Small things like new washer hose makes all the difference.

There's always an update even if its small in my world.

So booked it in to the garage on the 31st May the week before my Sportline goes in for full service, new rocker cover and rubber gasket with chrome hold down straps and nuts. Also rubber sump gasket and camber and tracking.

Also ordered a new rocker cover, the missing bits from the suspension and new nuts and washers for the top mounts from funk.

Then went and picked up 2 more new axle stands and ramps from Gumtree ad.

I keep meaning to pick up some ramps, would be very useful!

Sump plugs for the service and a carb rubber seat which my car doesn't have.

I don't think it will fit but it was worth taking the chance.

So spacers for top mounts arrived and are on as well as new washers and nuts from Funk.

New rocker cover from Funk also and camber bolt. New clear front lenses from the US.

Finished jet spraying in the arches, put the new camber bolt in and tried to get the wheels aligned a but better until it goes to get done properly.

Once the rush hour traffic is away, I'm taking it out for its first drive to fill it up with super unleaded :-)

Took it for its first drive to the petrol station for some super u and no problems at all :-)

So still heading across to my mates next week to get the timing sorted and choke reconnected.

Then 2 Saturdays time for the service, belt change, gaskets, tracking etc.

Once that's all completed I need to arrange a bodyshop visit for an idea at amount of paint required and cost 😁

I would like it painted before winter and then do the engine bay thru the winter ????

Whether I get it all done who knows ??

Great stuff Chris, how big was your grin driving it for the first time, or was it a nervous looking one?

It was only a few miles to get petrol and it was sweet as a nut. It still needs the timing checked and a good full service with belt done and camber/tracking and then it will hopefully be spot on ?

Really liking the GX Chris, I think the grey car against the black wheels really works!

Thanks :-)

That's what I think too and when I get it painted and the chrome side trims etc back on I think the silver and black wheels go well with the chrome and black on the car especially when I put new black bumpers and rear spats on.
