What a transformation after the cleaning. Can understand your anger with the running issue, but no more talk of scrapping now - had a few of us worried there  

Impact sockets, condenser, points, copper slip and breather hose all arrived.

I'm a bit pi**ed off with the fact that I haven't even driven the car yet and with no fix in the pipeline, I'm now going to fit the new suspension to my Sportline as I'm not wasting the money on the GX in case I bin it.

Don't bin it! and if you do I know a bin in Bristol that will take it.

You will get there mate, slowly slowly  

No rush!

Mostly Gunk with a soft paintbrush, strong bug and tar remover ( cant remember the name ) and Autoglym Super Resin polish at the end.

To break through the thick waxoyl or crud, I use a small flat screwdriver very carefully, as it just peels off.

You need to get some TFR Chris. 
Will save you loads of time.

I use auto smart. 

TFR is traffic film remover

Loads of different brands, some stronger than the other. 

Mate coming tomorrow night to do points and condenser with the timing.

If I don't get any direction from his visit tomorrow then I'm selling or scrapping it, as I'm not wasting anymore of my limited time on it.

If the carb has a blocked jet then it will make no diference Chris. My bet is that the carb needs a good service and blow out to ensure it is sparkly clean. I bet when the gasket was replaced is just shook the crud up, hence is running shite

Jets blown through with compressor and carb cleaned.

I'm genuinely fed up with it and its nearly away:-(

It may be easy for others but I'm lost and I don't want to get it picked up by a garage and get hit with a f*** off bill.
