Chances of fitting an RNS510 system to mk1

Hi all,
So I recently got rid of my Mk6 golf which had a RNS510 satnav system fitted, the silly side of me would like it in my mk1 but what would be the chances of making it happen?

Slim in my opinion and will cost more time and money than it's worth. 🤔

I've got a Mk6 TSI, 7 speed Tiptronic and all the extras apart from the sat navigation.

So I looked at buying one second hand and having fitted to complete the extras but having read many posts from owners with the same idea I just said no, screw it.

I'm no expert but that for me would be a serious challenge, I think I'd rather try to fit my 160 bhp engine and gearbox in one.

But certainly don't take my word for it! 🤔 😉 👍🏼

Haha fair enough mate I thought I can only ask can't I? Looks like I'll have to throw it on the bay of e then and stick to my old cassette player

No problem just thought it would be something different with it being fully loaded, phone and satnav

The RNS510 isn't really finally loaded, it relies on other devices within the car for the full function.  A telephone module and the mfd between the dash dials to name two. I just use an old Garmin with map updates in my Mk1.
Re Mk6 installation, I have retrofitted a RNS510 to replace a RCD510 including the rear view camera and front fogs to my Mk6

You will need to get the computer updated to control them. My car is a 2011 Match.
