My 83 Gti set to get full restoration

Not much better tbh mate! I did forget to take 2 of the runs out of the can before I started

Another pic from the painter today of the doors etc being painted, not a very good pic but you get the gist.

I'm going down to see the car tomorrow and to drop off the door seals etc ready for the transporter. Transporter is booked for next Saturday!!

Don't think I'll et much sleep on Friday mate!!

Been to see the car today and it's looking brand new!! I am sooo impressed with the quality of the paintwork, Jon has done himself proud! All the painting is done and they are now flatting back and polishing. Here's a few pics from today..

Stonechip on the inside of the wings

He's even sound deadened the floor which has saved me a job.

There was a lovely Mk1 Caddy there at Jon's, anyone here?

That's it for now peeps, the next update will be from my unit!! yeehaa

Well, Christmas has come early in this house today, in the form of a Wavetrac LSD :)

It's a thing of beauty, seems a shame to hide it away in the gearbox

Install kit

Hopefully it will be getting fitted in the next couple of weeks

Yeah, should be quick enough lol. The plan is to get it mapped so it's under 300lbs/ft and around 280bhp Max, gets a bit risky after that. I'll probably upgrade the rods next year if I do want more power.

Are you fitting the LSD yourself Andy ? Think this is next on my list for my car now.  Paint and engine is looking spot on !!

Yeah mate, few subtle mods on outside, bbs rm's, lowered, S1 bumpers, that sort of thing.

Cheers Ad,

I'm not fitting the diff mate, wouldn't know where to start tbh. A local mechanic is doing it.

If you're thinking of going for a wavetrac diff, Part Box was the cheapest place I could find, £130 cheaper than anywhere else. If you need more info give me a shout
