depends on the model and year to be honest.
also a picture of what you have on would help.
Enjoy your purchase though :)

Well first of all welcome to the club and it's great to see your become a 'Paid Member' straight away!

As for you question, I 'Ditto' the above comment.
Depending on year and model cabby (not just GTI) you could of had half a dozen different sets of wheels.

If you just give us a bit more detail, we'll have the answer for you I'm sure.

Anything else you want to know just shout and please post up some pictures when you can because we can't get to see enough pictures of the iconic Golf MK1!

still cant really tell from profile pic

If it is a later cab (not pre 88 with clipper kit added) I would guess either steel wheels with VW centres and rings round outside or "snowflake" alloys

I might stand corrected on this but not as a factory fit unless you bought a 'Sportline'!

Mine is also a 1990 and had steel wheels from new.
But that doesn't mean to say you can't fit 'within year' wheels, like I have on mine.

I love the look of the BBS wheels from the Sportline, so I bought a set from Germany.
If your patient, you can pick up a set for a very fair price but remember one thing. There a pain to keep looking clean!

yea as mike said i think bbs were sportline and mk2 gti

im 99% sure you wouldve had these steel wheels as standard:

or these alloys were the optional upgrade
