golf karmann cabby

Good evening guys, i have just purchased my very first cabby, i am yet to collect the vehicle as it is not taxed, i plan on making some change's to the vehicle and then i am hoping to get this on the road by next March for the summer :).

I have not found many in this colour and in such a good condition for its age.

i have not seen under the hood yet but it looks solid and well looked after, i have been told it has been garaged all of its life and i believe i am the 3rd owner.

is has done 93k and has a 1800 GTI engine, runs fine and has 11 Months left on the MOT.

i have put a link to the ebay page were i saw it for sale as i have not figured how to add Pictures Ect.

any tips for insurance would be great as i am 24 and the classic policys dont like me as i am not 25 :(great to meet you guys and im hoping to get to the show in july :)

Hi Broughie and welcome along to the forum.

Looks like a nice cabby you've bought there mate. Good luck getting her back on the road.

You're right that most classic insurers won't insure under 25's but I seem to remember reading recently about an owner who has found an insurer who will. Do a forum search on the subject as it's been discussed a fair few times recently.

Lot's of cabby experts on here to help you along the way. Join up as a member and come along to some shows :) The AGM is just around the corner

Good luck

Welcome and a very nice looking purchase

If you join as a paid member you can get insurance discounts - I don't think there'll be any age restriction on those but would be worth checking first

Welcome to the club, nice looking cabby you got mate :)

What plans you got for your cabby then ???

Insurance wise you will struggle to find any decent classic car policies. Im 23 and went with tesco as they were cheapest for me

You got a Mrs ? Add her as a named driver and search on confused.com you should get all the women insurers like diamond giving you cheap policies ;) :)

Good luck
