Hi guys, my names Tom and i'm a VW addict. There, I've said it!!we live in congleton, cheshire and have recently just bought our first MK1. We're no strangers to VW's as between my wife and I we've had the following:
MK2 Golf GTi
Mk3 Golf
2 Mk4 R32's
3 Polo's
and currently we have a passat estate and a '65 11 window splitscreen camper. We've bought the MK1 for my wife and little one to cruise round locally Anyway, pics for you all
I'll no doubt be asking questions over time and need a few bits to finish him off so this isn't the last you'll hear from me!Thanks for looking!

Hi Tom and welcome to the forum. Nice MK1.
You're lucky to have a Mrs who is interested in VW's and MK1s. Mine is completely indifferent to them

Thanks for the welcome guys! Yeah I'm pretty lucky that I have a wife that won't drive anything other than a vw!! That's why I married her!!! Lol!
No plans for the golf other than to fix a few things and run it!
Not got the cash to do much whilst running a '65 split!! Lol! Damn vw's!!

Life could be worse - and as you say with a wife with VW written through her middle noting to complain about!

Love the splittie campers. Some of the mint ones go for amazing amounts of money. Would be one of the first things I'd buy if I won the lottery.

Welcome aboard. I'm chester way so nice to find another local-ish person.
Your mk1 looks lovely, love the gas burners by the way, they really suit to car.
Im currently saving for a splitty muself as its on my hit list of must have's.

Hi
Welcome to the Mk1 Golf Owners Club, enjoy your stay and feel free to browse around the forum and ask any questions you may have, we are all a friendly bunch, and will try and help where we can : - )
If you are looking to save money make sure you check out here:
http://vwgolfmk1.org.uk/index.php?page=purchase&type=message&id=-1&product=USERGROUP5
For just £20 a year for paid membership, you have soon saved more than the paid membership free on discounts from the partners that support our paid members, and on top of that help the club keep going.
As a club we encourage people to meet up, make new friends and share experiences and knowledge we have all had with our golfs etc , so if that's your sort of thing keep an eye on the Regional and National pages below, where there will be details of meets in and around your location. Also details of who your Regional Host is or are, feel free to contact them about meets in your area also.
