Evening all, got my first ever MK1 today, blue banger caddy.
Not new to the scene having renovated a T4 and a T25 before so I know how much hard work it's gonna be to get to something Respectable.
Previous owner has done a great job so far with the suspension, or rather 'slamming' it and getting rid of the small amount of rot with new steel.
So it's my turn now to fettle with filler, roller paint with rustoliem and tweak the 27 year old 1.6D engine to running sweet.
Oh, but firstly bolting up the front half of exhaust that's scraping on the floor, then buying the back half of the that's missing !
It's gonna be a long hard costly journey but I'm so looking forward to it and to meeting more members.
Loved going to t3/t25 meets and was an active member of the T4 forum with meets and camp outs and Tatton show.
I'm in Stockport so if you see a scruffy looking blue thing drive past (you'll hear my exhaust before you see me) then please let on👍🤘🏻

Hi and welcome to the club first of all.
Any questions just fire away because we'll have the answers for sure.
Do keep the pictures coming as your project develops, in fact start a new one now in our projects section.
Then you have an historical post as it develops if you want! 😉 👍🏼

Thanks all for the welcome😀
Yes I'll start a full photo diary and update as I go along with the cheap and cheerful (as doing all the work myself with bits and bobs I get for next to nowt) renovation and restoration of the truck.
Here's a couple of photos of my previous pride and joys I've enjoyed owning and working on.

T25 was a straight panel van, hardly any rot and a original complete bulkhead , god I loved that van.
Split up with the ex wife and had to sell as needed cash regrettably.

You guessed it Ian lol, I'm a carpenter by trade and builder pal and love to have a work van I enjoy to drive and enjoy to tinker with.

Welcome mate,
can't beat a caddy whether it's a ratty or show car.
There's the Bishofberger conversion for these as well which turns the rear bed into a camper van.
