About ?200 quid brand new for just the hood plus fitting.  If you're feeling adventurous, there is a pdf file somewhere on the site describing how to replace the hood (by Ross).  Met a guy at the Essex meet today who swears by it.

Hope this helps.
Karmann is best known today for its work on cabriolets. It provides roof-components for many of the cabriolets we see on our streets today, such as the Mercedes-Benz CLK, the Renault M?gane CC and the Volkswagen New Beetle Cabrio. Both the headquarters in Osnabr?ck and the additional facility in Rheine also construct complete vehicles, such as both of the Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet, the Audi A4 Cabrio, both of the Mercedes-Benz CLK and Chrysler Crossfire. A small number of vehicles is produced in Brazil S?o Bernardo

I didnt know any of this just been on google because mine has the karmann badges as well and i didnt have a clue either.
The convertible version, named the Golf Cabriolet (or Typ 155), was sold from 1980 to 1993 (a convertible version of the Mark 2 Golf was not made, so the Mark 1 Cabrio with slight modification was produced until the introduction of the Mark 3 Cabrio). It had a reinforced body, transverse roll bar, and a high level of trim. The Mark 1 Cabriolet is of unibody construction built entirely at the factory of Karmann, from stamping to final assembly; Volkswagen supplied the engine, suspension, interior, etc. for Karmann to install. The vinyl or cloth tops were insulated and manually or automatic operated, with a heated glass rear window.

Google again i am afraid, put in car trimmers yorkshire or car trimmers midlands it brings loads up, the place i had mine done was a car and coach trimmers bit to far you though it was in kings lynn norfolk.
Have a good shop around though as the prices can vary a lot.
I am sure someone on here can advise you of a good one that they have used.
