Next years shows

I'm not trying to wish my life away but I have to submit my 2008 years leave in the next 2 weeks and would like to plan in a few shows for next year.

Has the Gaydon weekend been penciled in yet please?

Hi Dano

It should (?) be same weekend as this years (Sorry to jump in Ant/Claire!! ) but Gaydon don't confirm bookings until the new year so can't be 100% certain yet.

Cheers
Andy

Does that mean it will clash with Tatton Park (VW NW) again?

Is it possible to know the dates for VW NW 2008 and try to make the Gaydon weekend not clash with it?

There aren't the many shows in the NW that are suitable for the mk1, and it would be a shame not to take advantage of a show that's on the doorstep. Apart from All Types most of the shows tend to be south of Birmingham, I've done Santa Pod 3 times this year, Bruntingthorpe, Gaydon and apart from Ultimate Dubs which I could walk to, only All Types has been a trip up north.

Don't forget VW Festival at Harewood House near Leeds. Thats been the weekend after Gaydon for the last two years.

This was our problem for this year and last - we changed the date at everyones request, but it still clashed. I'm guessing whatever weekend we hold it on now there will be a major show we clash with? :dontknow:

No, because there isn't a major show every weekend. You just need to find the gap.

Get the calendar up Calendar and lets get it sorted early this year!!!!

(Having said that, I've checked and a lot of the dates aren't out yet!!   )

Lets have ONE 'Opp Narth' meet at a big show so the Club can get noticed up here as well.

Come we can do it!!!!

Dano, on the subject of Ultimate Dubs, (in the Edition 38 topic  ), you said it's possible to have an inside stand, am I right in thinking you have to have all the cars inside the night before? if so that might be a bit of a stumbling block for those coming on the day of the show itself (Sunday). Whereas an outside stand alongside the Dubmarines etc could be quite enjoyable and no need to get there till the morning of the show, my preference would be outside, at least I can have a fag (if I'm still smoking by then   ). What's the opinions of people who will be attending?

The whole idea behind Ultimate Dubs is precisely that… the 'best' cars whether it be standard or modified.

I would suggest that we get a host of the clubs' top condition cars for inside (yes they would have to be inside on the Saturday for H & S reasons) and an outside stand of the Sunday arrivals/ not so top end cars.

The only problem is that folk say they will attend then pull out. If owners are wanting to go inside then its an overnight stay in the nearby hotel and a load of VW chat and beer. I can think of worse evenings!!!!

Hope that helps.
