GTI Spring Festival - Sunday 22nd April 2012 *Club Display*

Meet at A45 Shell garage for those who want to convoy in, otherwise try to be at the Pod for 9.00am - 9.30am.  The club stand area is in the usual area, it will be designated by the show organisers on arrival, if this is your first time on going, pay at the gates, then inform the stewards that you are on the Mk1 Golf Owners club stand and do not want to go in the general car park when you come to the parking area and they will direct you around the Santa Pod grounds towards the club displays area.

I will be monitoring the weather and make my decision on whether the weather is looking good or not to make the trip tomorrow when the  alarm clock goes in the morning

Hi Dave,  last year was a really good show and turnout, but the weather was fantastic

With the weather the way it is, I would not recommend coming all the way up from Looe, it is a lot of fuel and time for a show that is a non event if it rains (personal experience from previous rained out Santa Pod events)

It is better for those that are local to Santa Pod to decide at the time, but from Cornwall its a bit hit or miss to know how the weather will be 4 hours later

Yeah, all in all not bad, just a bit cold and windy as funk said.
Managed to get the cabby home and garaged before it rained too!
A mate of mine went to E38 before coming to spring fest and said it was much busier there!
Shame these two events were scheduled on the same day within a few miles of each other really!

Was a good day , wasn't a lot in the way of stalls or auto jumble,  seems this show is getting poorer every yr, expensive at £15 pp for what was there , may well give this a miss next yr :(

We were sort of thinking the same, you can buy a lot of beer for £15 and could meet in a pub.

Yeah I agree with you guys too.
Maybe one not to bother with next year.
Worth a day out though and a chance to escape the usual Sunday lifestyle :-)

Gti Spring Festival 2012 Pictures

Just got back had a great day meeting some of the guys for the first time , it was actually a lot of fun if you were sprinting as we were managed a best run of the day of 14 seconds which was well happy with (for now) !!, and thats without the new box of tricks lined up for the following weeks, took some pics ( sorry there might be a lot of my silver one , but it is my post after all  :D )

Show and shine was packed at around 2ish ! but only about 15 Mk1's there in total, the rest were either at edition or scared off by the weather probably.

More Pics At Below Link

Enjoy
