It was good to meet you all at DATP on Sunday and I would like to do at least one show with my MK1 this year instead of the van!

I think thats it for limits festival, i booked for 15 cars and retro i think i booked for 10 - 12. Naturally some of you may have to drop out due to other commitments etc etc. Please let me know if your situation changes.

count me in if theres room! ill gonna bring a full on pit crew with mechanics this time - and a tow rope lol!

but ofcourse! couldnt be a cheap skate any longer! hey with the amount of petrol my mk1 drinks do you blame me! my insurance has less than halved this year tho so got some spare cash for more engine mods! im gettin into the 14's this time got some twin 45 webers's to go on

THE GTI SHOW THAT'S DUBBED THE COOLEST!

Why the coolest? Ask anyone, it just is. It is simply the show for all water cooled VW enthusiasts. For many years, thousands of visitors to the GTI Festival have sampled the laid back atmosphere. 2008 is actually the 16th running of the event.

Over the years the show has seen some stunning vehicles and some superb events. The venue has changed a few times, but for years now, the Santa Pod Raceway facility has meant that the focus of the show is on an accurate quarter-mile sprint, which is open to all-comers all day long. Apart from the fantastic value for money 'as many runs as you like, all day' deal, there is also the fact that you are driving on a superb purpose built surface, and using world record standard calibrated timing. Ask anyone who was at the recent GTI SPRING FESTIVAL.

We also would like to pay tribute to, and remind you of, the fire/safety staff, medical staff, and marshals, all of whom are there for your safety. They are the most practiced and efficient staff in Europe. Basically, you are getting the absolute best available when you sprint at the GTI Festival. But it's not all about the quarter mile. Some will come to show their cars, others to look at the show cars, some will gather with their Club in the Club Displays and some will just come to find a bargain at the trade stands. Why ever you come, just come. And enjoy!

Danny, think Ant has already booked a stand for 15 cars. Can you check?

Hi all just officially became a member  :wink: I would like a place on the club stand for my  silver mk1 1.8t if theres any left  

Grover - your membership is Pending e-Cheque clearance (normally takes 7-10 days so should be in time for the show). Grover & Justin-GTI - please refer to ant5's post above, I guess we'll start a reserves list, normally there's a couple of people who drop out so there is a good chance reserves can be accommodated.

Watching the F1 today suddenly made me realise that the F1 circus hits Silverstone this same weekend. For me to get to Santapod I would normally take the A43 past Silverstone.

I will take a different route probably Daventry.

I thought I'd post this just as a reminder for those coming from the same direction to expect heavier traffic.

Don't know what its like on race day since they bypassed Silverstone nor do I want to find out!
