Rear disk conversion help!
Hi everyone
My car is looking awsome now back from the media blaster and now painted in a blue/silver colour. I am putting mk2 disks on but im wondering if any one knows how to connect the handbrake cable as its totally different. Is the anywhere I can buy one ready made for the job thanks

I think you may need to use the Mk2 16v handbrake cables, or the Haynes Resto manaul recommends Sirocco 16v handbrake cables.
Can anyone else confirm?

I used the Scirocco 16V cables from GSF. I think they were around ?8 each.

Im probably being stupid but i have the stub axles and calipers of a mk2. I cant seem to be able to locate them properly im wondering if anyone could send me a picture of the rear calipers in situ my email address is mutley6346@tiscali.co.uk cheers

You may find that a couple of the allen bolts don't go into the stub axle because the beam is in the way. I just ground the beam away to suit.

sciroco cables, and i was fine with the allen key bolts, popd straight in,
i always have the last laugh

Thanks everyone for the advice, I got them in and working and have just bolted my willwoods and 280mm disc's on. The bloody wheels don't fit now so I will need to get a spacer for each any ideas where the best place to get them from is. Cheers

I think it will be about 8mm each side hope it doesnt effect the handling too much cheers
