mk2 pb engine for mk1
hi, iv seen a 1.8 8v pb engine for sale, just wondering what i would need to do to fit the engine and what would need to be done to the loom?

mk2 pb engine for mk1
its from a 1990 g-plate and hazard lights on top of stalks. Also it's going into a 81 1.6 gti, thanks

ok it wont plug in then, you'll have to splice it. also since its an 81 i strongly recommend you bin the fusebox as its just not good enough, it cant even handle k-jet properly as it melts the fuel pump pin!
if you had the complete mk2 loom you could convert it to fit your car, otherwise you could get a complete post-82 mk1 or cabrio loom and replace everything.
an alternative is get a 1.8 8v k-jet dizzy and injector inserts, front metal coolant flange, then convert the pb engine to kjet, drop it in and run on the existing managment
