Intercooler options
Hi,I'm looking for info on mk1 1.8t intercooler.
i don't want to run a front mount that has outlets both sides of rad as I think the piping will look rubbish so I was wondering if anyone has fitted a Renault 5 gt turbo intercooler? Looks like a good size to me and I can keep the piping neat and tidy on one side of the engine bay it's 330x205x130 I was thinking its a fat so will be close to engine but should fit snug in gap between rad and os chassis leg

It would need to be an aftermarket R5 intercooler as they were horrific for popping the end casing on the factory one.
You can get a variety of intercoolers which are both front mount and twin pass that will have both the inlet and outlet at the same side and will be a better size for a 1.8 rather than an intercooler designed for a 1.4 engine

I know what your saying about engine size but i reckon it's nearly the same size as standard 1.8t intercooler but its thicker. I'm just thinking of make the engine bay look really tidy. The twin pass ones I've come across are all 76mm inlet/outlets and I'm running 51mm intercooler piping, hell of a step up/down
