kn induction kit

im just in the process off fitting a 16v kr in my mk1, how can i use a kn induction kit instead of the air box ????

yeah !! thats right !! does that mean i cant use an induction filter ???

you can get performance panel filters for the KR airbox (K&N etc) - got one in mine, but to get a cone filter on would need a special bottom to be made for the meter head with a tube of the right diameter etc - all in all a great big faff for no gain over a proper panel filter!

ABF.  Mainly found in the Mk3 Golf 16V GTI (and others)

Has a different intake/fueling system, so induction kits can work.

No point at all on K-Jet.

thats pointless anyway coz all it will achieve is sucking a ton of hot air in, most likely making it slowly than it was to start with….  Suppose it'll be noisier though.

aye that ABF set up is pants,

and on Kjet you can get a new bottom for the air box but again it will just put the cone in the engine bay and suck hot air….

use the stock air box, along with a KN pannel filter, and then the air intake from a Audi 100 5 pot which was routed to the grill.


 the stock audi intake can be hidden behine the grill but for max gain I used 2 raduised intakes in the grill which fed straight to the air box via the audi pipes,
