BBS Bodykit & dials need help to fit any advice apprecia

Hi
I am currently restoring a MK1 Golf GL convertible I am modifying it slightly I know this offends all the purests out there but I am staying within the VW vein of modifications. I am wanting to fit oil temp/pressure & volt meter in the centre console I really need some help especially with the oil temp/pressure inparticularly where the senders can be placed (my engine is a 1.6 carb).
I am also fitting an original BBS GTI bodykit, I know I will have to cut the bodykit to accommodate the extra strenthening beams that the convertible has but any hints tips or info you can offer from your experience/knowledge will be greatly appreciated.
I have had this car off the road for the past 3 years and am lovingly trying do this as correctly as possible in order to give the car the prestige that it deserves.
many thanks

Cant help with the BBs kit as ive never fitted one . Oil temp can be wired to either a dip stick sender (replacing the dipstick) which gives an accurate oil temp but canbe a bit fragile and a pain when you want to check your oil or a less accurate sump sender which replaces your engine oil drain plug , i use a sump sender - you get to know when somethings wrong . Oil pressure senders can be fitted using a tee piece to either the oil filter housing (oil pressure switch ) or in the gearbox end of the head - screwed in to the original senders hole , you should use a tee piece to enable you to run the original sender as well as the pressure sender . Hope that helps , can post some pics if your at all unsure .
