Going to be a pain if if it turns out they are the pressure regs as I don't think I have downward facing outlets on my M/C… unless I can plumb them in further down the lines to keep the engine bay looking tidy!
How did you do your good ladies?
I'll check my chassis number tomorrow when I'm out in the garage.

You can still get them new as you said from here
http://www.volkswagen-…s.de/bestand/index_e.html
Search on part number 533612151 and both are listed as new production parts, the 16V ones are cheaper.
Would like to know what pressure each of then limits the rear brakes to, to see if it is worth changing them to the correct ones.

Just to add a spanner into the works, remember the 16v scirocco is lighter at the rear then a Mk1 cabrio. This would affect the choice of valves too and might explain your success with your other halves sportline.
Ade, could you take a photo or explain how you fitted the valves with the 22mm M/C? Would be a massive help.
Does anyone know about the use of the Astra GTE valves then? close to 16v ones or Cabrio?

I got a 4 outlet 22mm master cylinder and made up some pipes so that the pressure valves remain vertical at the side of the car, to the right of the master cylinder on the passenger side. Make sure you plumb them in the right way up !! I wasn't sure if the valves would work properly if screwed in to the master cylinder, which would make then nearly upside down. Away with work at the moment so cant take a pic.
Not sure if the mk3 stub axles are the same.
I can only tell you about my setup and then you have to make your own mind up which route to go. We are talking brakes here, so if you are any way unsure then leave the drum setup as it is. I just hate the way the rear drum adjusters don't work and therefore the pedal feel is naff. Disks resolve this .

As you said though, I would be interested in seeing what the difference in Bias is. Could be a little project there for the future!

Looks like I may have to fabricate some kind of proportioning valve onto the rear beam. Might see if I can get one from an earlier cabrio or mk2 and see what I can come up with. Owing to how low the car is I'll need to adjust it anyhow.

i used 280 mm ebc drilled and grooved disks and green stuff pads g60 calipers with conversion brackets of ebay (*which need a bit grinding off)
22m/c and 9 sevro
good ridge hoses
at the back i used mk 4 golf calipers,mk2 bearings and stub axles ,mk2 disks and mk4 pads .
good ridge hoses you also need c&r goodridge conversion hoses as well you also need to fit new brake lines just makes it easier
i stuck with bias valves of my cab which work fine
the only problem i came across was pedal was really soft end up adjusting bar across bulk head and backs were a bit of a pain to bleed
the car now stops dead in seconds!!!!had it down a mates mot place and had it on brake tester results were great so well worth it!!!
