2.0 16v into mk1

i am looking at buying a mk1 golf off a mate. its a 1.1

i been looking at either fitting a 1.9 pd tdi lump into it
or
2.0 16v lump
or
20v turbo

i wanna try to do a conversion myself. with a little help of course. but which would be my best option and how much would i be looking at for the each conversion including price of engine, conversion parts, gearbox etc

nobody likes outsiders then :dontknow:

2ltr 16v on carbs would be the easier option

20v turbo be looking between 3-8k

for a 2.0L 16v 1.5-3K and a lot less hassle/fabrication

think i have made up my mind of having a 2.0l 16v engine, as i have so many options later on, either turbo, supercharger or carbs

is the abf the best 2l engine to use

been told the 2l 16v can stand 290bhp on standard internals with a supercharger. is this right
