1.4 16v Conversion - About to tackle it.

Bummer, will try the video again…

I've not got any of it driving, it's been driven for a couple of hundred yards just to make sure everything is right… Mixture is off so gonna get it on a trailer and get it over to Bogg Bros next week for the carbs setting up, think it's flooding anything after a couple of thousand revs.. That's no fun!

I didn't have the full polo, but the golf had an ADX engine and 5 speed polo gearbox from what I think was a mk2! I didn't put the engine and box in originally so I'm not sure what it's come from.

As far as I know it's mk2 polo gearbox, mk1 golf driveshafts, mk1 golf rad (but a nissen alloy rad, the other was wrecked!) Then an AFH engine, GSX carbs, custom inlet manifold, stainless 4 branch exhaust manifold linked to full stainless golf exhaust (needed a small section adding to make up the difference in length.

Been cracking on with this, running alright but can't be driven until the carbs get set up!

Waiting for a temp sensor, radiator and need to track down the right speedo cable, then we're cooking on gas!

Got some different wheels on her now, got a half decent price, not the wheels I would've chosen, but better than the Pslots with punctures!

Got some G60 steels on the way from a friend that have got good tyres so will sell these when they come.

Been over to Bogg Bros today, unfortunately it wasn't going my way as the manifold I used is a bag of dogturd and was letting air in all over the place.

Going to get it sorted and hopefully get it back over there at some point soon!

We did manage to get it going and it was mentally fast, just incredibly unpredictable!

Excellent work bud, are you using a mk1 golf GTI exhaust or a small block exhaust?

It's a custom full stainless one, but if I didn't have it (it came with the car) then I'd be using a GTI exhaust linked up to the AFH exhaust manifold..

I got the exhaust with the car when I bought it as a 1.3 and it was too big for that, just right for the power that this thing is putting out though.
