For paint, I'd try Yellow pages and find a car paint shop in the local area, best to do this because you can have a chat with the knowlegeable staff who can advise you on pressures, mixing, etc etc and sell the other bits you'd need.

I have heared of places selling cellulose paints though. So i would try and get some cellulose paints.
I could be totaly wrong but i would like to know cos i am considering doing mine this summer.

TBH he probably won't sell it to you, unless you convince him you know what your doing. But it is a better paint. Also bear in mind these days, its a changing landscape and water based paints are coming onto the aftermarket too. These are sprayable but need higher power guns, and high powered drying equipment - ie workshop/paintshop levels of investment. So you can pretty much ignore these, I guess.
This leaves you with cellulose and 1k acrylic. Many stockists are now 'running down' their stock of celly and there is a vague rule which basically says, it should only be supplied for cars where it was originally sprayed as such. Basically if they have it, you're fine for a Mk1 Golf.
