What's my golf worth?
Hi I have a 1983 mk1 golf Gti tin top in Lhasa green,it's in good condition for its age,no welding needed underneath, just a couple of minor rust bubbles on the one wing, the other wing has been painted badly,it's totally original apart from being lowered around 40mm on dampers and springs,it starts on the button and drives good, could do with a service (which it will be getting next month) interiors very good, also standard, has had a repair on the drivers seat bolster in mk3 material I think but looks good
Few receipts, but do have a few pics of when it was new as I recently got in touch with the first owner.
9 months mot
2 months tax
105000 miles
Advisories on last mot was:
1 tyre close to legal limit
Inherent cv joints
Any opinions welcome

Did you only get it in June? How much did you pay?
I paid 1700 for one very similar, lots and lots of history though and tidy bodywork (needs minimal work if any)
Just as a pointer

It owes me around 1300 as I did a px,the rest of the bodywork is great, with a lick of paint it would look the nuts 8)
Forgot to mention though that its a cat d as it was stolen off the previous owners drive then kerbed and left as the muppets obviously couldn't handle it,didn't put me off though as its a very straight original Gti

if it's a cat d it worth even less then you think it's worth
problem with it is a cat d will put alot of buyers off
True. I'd not put my money in to a cat c or d car. I'd break it sean

The cat 'D' on a car this old wouldn't bother me at all. Its obviously still straight and working ok at it's age. Unsure of the price though as there only worth what someone will pay, get it on ebay.
