Re-drilling hubs
So my dream wheels have come up for sale but they're 5x112 fitment.
Been quoted £250 to get some 5x112 to 4x100 custom made adapters made up but they're not recommended for daily use
Does anyone on here know anything or have any experience with getting your hubs redrilled?
Any info is appreciated

i`m in the same boat, bought some awesome vauxhall wheels that are 5x112 and can`t find adapters.
i`ve got a friend that had his jetta hubs redrilled by a guy in matlock for £40, they run fine so gonna give that a try. i`ll let you know how it goes.

In short, you can't use Mk3 hubs on a Mk1 because the wheel bearing is a different size. You might be able to modify one or other of the wheel bearing, hub, or hub carrier, but it would be a bit of a project to do.
Can't remember 100% but I think 4x100 to 5x112 is one of the adapter sizes that's physically impossible to achieve, due to the bolts overlapping the other.
So, the options would be:

Mk3 golf 5 studs are 5x 100 so no use for this project.
