Just got it 2 days ago, gave it a clean today, i love it, i love it, i love it.
need to tidy up the grill surround, its the only bad bit on the car plus
a few things i want to do to try and make it more orginal, i.e black badge.
What do ya'll think?

Thanks guys, im so proud of it, the best impulse buy ill ever make i reckon! Never owned a VW before let alone an old one, but i love my cars and know the iconic status of this car and all the history etc, i just love driving it.
The back lawn is my grandparents house, out in the 'Glens', great place for cleaning the car up.
The extra badge was put on by the previous owner, its an old badge from a local VW dealer, makes the car more local and fits in well with the rest of the car.
Cheers again!

Update: done a few improvements to my car now, the grill has been smoothed down and re-painted, really happy with the result since i did it myself. Also done the badge, but its not great so a proper one is on its way soon.
and of course, the Sweaty Badge! should keep the fuzz a bit more relaxed, i hope!
oh and i cleaned out the garage so it has a place to stay, wayhey! not had a car in there for 12 years!

hmmmm  ……Very nice body etc but it sits very high, especially at the rear.
Sorry to appear negative after all the glowing comments but I couldn't let it lie

Dont worry about that Dubz, yes i have noticed it does sit high.
Would you say it sits too high for a Gti or is that normal?
I dont want to lower the car as id like to keep it standard as best i can, but if it sits too high for a standard Gti then lowering it slightly could be justified.
What do you think?

Yes, it does sit much higher than a standard GTI and perhaps higher than a none GTI at the back. I remember a pal of mine got new rear springs on his Scirocco and that sat very high (he changed them in the end for a new kit) so maybe they're new and need to settle ??
