car been laid up for a while started okay but then starts to choke up is something in the carb sticking if so how to solve

It's really hard to offer any advice when there is so little information.

What have you changed/done before starting the car?
New fuel?
New spark plugs, ht leads, dissy cap, rotor arm?
New fuel filter?
Checked inside the fuel tank for rust?

What carb do you have as originally they came with Pierburg carb but as they are difficult to work on most have been changed to a Webber.

Tell us more and see if we can help or spray some carb cleaner in the carb and see if that helps?
