KR on carbs- revcounter kaput

Just checking in in case this is something obvious/normal. On a KR with carbs should the dash rev counter work correctly, or does the conversion mess it up? If it works correctly, then it's a dash/feed fault. Just trying to understand better! Thanks

as far as I know rev counter gets it power/signal from the coil but if its had its wiring altered for the kr engine things could be wired up wrong who knows!

Could it be similar to standard engine..needs the rocker earth? I know my counter dies with no earth on rocker.

it should work yes, as above its the red/black wire to the coil negative from the fusebox you should start with and look at the earths to the head, the brown/white one with ring terminal is for MFA type clocks if it has them
