Hi everyone.
Well a lot has happened since last time I posted something here. New house, sold the old one, and we got a kid on the way
The big problem at this moment is:
I have just got my new Weber carburettor for VW Heritage UK, and it dont fit at all. 400£ out the window It was going to replace my Pierburg Solex 1B automatic choke carburettor, because it's been a pain since I got the car. I live here in the North of Norway, so a manual choke is way better when it's -20 celcius in the winter.
I now understand after talking to Webcon, they say that this one I bought is only for 1977-1980 Golf MK1 1.5l ( My MK1 is 1983 with auto choke )
Webcon support says that they have stopped producing this carburetor that will fit my car. does any of you know where I can get one that fit my model?
Info on my Golf:
Year: 1983
Engine: 1.5l JB
Gearbox: Manual
Carburettor: Pierburg Solex 1B
Picture of the original air filter box and the new Weber carburetor. VW Heritage said it would fit, but as you see it's far far off.
New Weber carb mounting bracket / adapter won't fit the original manifold

Hi, the adapter looks as though it should fit the 1.6/1.8 manifold. I can't remember if they're interchangeable. I have one here I can look at as well. I have sent you a message as well. It might be worth talking to Heritage about the fitment issue.

There's several different Weber conversions. As above really, I think the one you have is for a different inlet manifold. To use it, probably best to swap the manifold too. I believe the other Weber (the kit that will fit your existing manifold) has been obsolete for 10+ years, so parts etc will be hard to find.
