Hi guys, I'd like to start doing some work on my clipper at work but would like some advise on the type of ramp I have at my work, its not a 2 poster its the type you drive over sunk into the ground (uber expensive Germans) and then put rubber blocks under the car, being a 1990 clipper I hear the sills are very strong so could this work okay on the sills? I found a picture of the type of ramp and took a picture of a car I was working on today lifted for an example (yes I work on hybrids and electric vehicles not just smokey old bangers lol)

As long as those blocks can be placed correctly under the jacking points I don't see a problem because the rest of it does not come in contact with the rest of the car.
Just be very careful as always!

Cheers guys, are the jacking points on the sills where the sude skirts have recessed bits? I take it I'm better off using the sill than put the weight on the skirt and risk it cracking? I hear late cabby sills are very tough and have used axle stands on the sills without issues just always used arb mount for the jack

Sorry if it's a daft question but what do you class as the jacking points? There seems to be 100 different answers to that question where the bodykit has recesses do you then put the rubber blocks on the lip of the sill?aircooled1968 said
we use the same at doncaster audi, rubber blocks on the jacking points as normal and away you go, i know as mine seems to go up fairly regularly recently

Yep where the body kit recesses you then put the jack on the lip of the sill, there is a strengthening plate underneath there to take the weight.
If the car has been to a garage/tyre fitters which does not use rubber blocks on jacks you may see bits of the stone chip paint damaged already.

Thank you for confirming that, I thought that as we do the same thing at work with certain minis etc, the sills are intact which is why I was wanting to be 100% certainmark1gls said
