I take it is a Vert. so powered top or not?

non-powered
Volkswagen Lift-O-Mat part number: 155871997A
Sachs-Stabilus-Boge replacement part number: SG401018
At mcmastercarr.com, replacement part number: 9416K337 (you will also need two eyelets per strut, P/N 9416K84)

Power/hydraulic tops use different struts.  The part numbers for the OEM struts are: 155871795 (left), 155871796 (right).

VWheritage comes to mind.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

You could call at pirtek branch and see what they have in stock.  They can check if works ok..
Or Google search for hydraulic cylinder manufacture stockists locally. They may have a stock item

cabrio roof strut

Marty had the aftermarket power top kit fitted as in the photo so they are shorter than than the OEM as they’re placed differently.
So not the same as OEM late power top cabbies.

I’m looking for some of the aftermarket ones too.
