hobbies or jobs?
God, I've just realised I don't do anything else apart from car related stuff… how sad am I? If I ever watch TV it's because of cars. (or Emmerdale) When I go to the pub we talk about cars (or things which might get me into trouble) and if I visit any place it's usually got a car-derived motive. Anyone got a spare life I could get?

I am a designer, so I mostly like cars from an aesthetic point of view, so I have taken an evening course in welding, and am learning Mechanics by the self-teach method.
Other interests include: anything beautiful, like modernism (furniture, architecture and theory. Sarcastic women, (bad habit that.) Vintage stuff, I love car-boots, looking for art-deco or car related rubbish.
I am also a new Dad, so theres a whole new world opening up in front of me too!

Err…
The car.
Then there's the Motorbike for the road. And the one for off road. Then there is swimming. And Cycling (on and off road). And the family…
It's just a real pain that work gets in the way!

Climbing:
Here we are about 2,000 ft above High Camp - all up at about 20,000 feet in the Himalaya's in 2005 -
23,000 feet Chulu West. The peak is behind - and another 9 hours away
Anyone up for a climb this year? Here it is - it's called Annapurna South. Targeting the July August climbing season. You'll need to be away for about 40 - 45 days. Let me know if you're up for it

Well,
When Younger I was into BMX. I also do a bit of snowboarding, though not so much in recent years (family etc…).
Like doing a bit of woodworking - Built a few units/cupboards etc for the house, plus my shed from scratch, and a patio table etc…
Also do a bit of photography (link in my sig…)

Dammit!
I wish I could have a hobby apart from rare tinkerings on the car. I work 60hrs+ Mon - Fri and occasional Saturdays so by the weekend I'm shattered. Weekend is taken up with continuous wedding+Honeymoon preperations (15 weeks to go!), attempting to tidy up the house and the on the rare occasion vegging.
Ideally, I'd love to take up rugby again. I only play once or twice a year in the Fat Boy 7s tournaments but I wouldn't mind playing at my old club again. All I need to do is get fit and stop smoking. Easier said than done though. Might get the motivation this weekend cos I'm going to Twickenham to see England v Scotland

I work as a finance project manager - however, the less said about work the better as they've just announced that the office is closing and moving to london - I'm not doing that so I guess i'm looking for a new job. :boohoo:
My girlfriend and I bought our first house nearly a year ago so lots of time has been spent learning to do DIY. Quite satisfying doing up your own place I reckon!
As far as purely fun stuff goes then occasionally surfing, tinkering with the mk1, a bit of 5-a-side footy, and some rusty guitar-playing keeps me out of trouble.

I work in IT.. constantly dealing with "I can't print" because the printers out of paper
hobbies are the Mk1 (that's a lifes work in itself really), and more recently following my dad's footsteps and got into 4x4's (of the range rover variety) which must be said, off-road driving is the driving fun I can have! 8) I've even set up a website for it

There seams to be a trend developing with mk1 owners and extreme sports. I also enjoy downhill mtb'ing but unfortunately there are not many hills in Chicago where I'll be moving to in May(ish). I'm thinking about taking up hockey over there. I also want to get a little more serious with photography and learn guitar. That's about it
I used to own a mk1 - well I've had 2 actually - YDU 720X & SMU 420Y. Currently I drive an 98 Scotia White Mitsubishi Evolution V RS…. fancy getting another mk1 someday
