Yay! Camper van! Do it do it do it! :cheer:
JK (Just Kampers) has a forum too.
To be honest, Volkzone can be a bit daunting to a newbie. Have a looky to see if you have a good aircooled club near you.
Our local one, Splitterz is really good and everyone on there is really welcoming and helpful. I'm sure you could join even though you're not local for the meets and stuff. You'd see folk at shows and the like.

cheers all,
still doing my research at the mo.. loved them forever. but one downer is if i go ahead I will have to sell my rivage to fund 8O
It may be all a pipe dream but went camping at the weekend and it would be so much easier to get everything in.; plus I've always wanted one!
well I'm on the lookout and will join some forums etc and that to get my head round all the models etc
Cheers

Unfortunatley I dont have a season ticket.. If I did it would have got rid of it by now anyway

Preston 0-2 Doncaster
I sometimes wish I could just change my forum name :redfaced:

If i got a camper it would have to be our 2nd car as the mrs wouldnt possibly allow 3 + a scooter
Audi 2.0TDi - Family car to get two kids in and the mrs to use for work
Rivage - My daily-ish driver
1976 Vespa - My Ride to work in the town center
+

Hi chris, how much are you planning to spend? I dont know much about campers problems etc but have seen some top notch fully restored for 30k. although some nice one's from 8k + and them some in need of resto from 500 quid (one on ebay ending today
one finished on ebay the other day that looked nice but didnt have any interior
I'm not gonna rush into it.. will be next year at the earliest and by then could have won the lottery!

Oh dear, it's the other way round in our house.
83 GTI cabby (daily drive for me for 5yrs, now hubby as caddy off the road)
88 Caddy (hubby's usual daily drive)
Focus estate (my current daily)
84 GTI cabby (my first, now under resto)
70 Early bay camper (mine, under resto)
4 motorbikes in various states of resto in the garage
And if hubby would let me I'd have a beetle and a mk1 scirocco out there as well!

cheers for the info, I'm thinking a T2 split or bay, dont really fancy anything newer, probably one pre 1973 to be tax exempt.
Dont think I could bring myself sell my mk1 to fund after all 8O. just gotta convince the mrs its a good idea and start saving

A5OPY has just bought his from a guy in Croston.
Theres someone who does them up near the Leisure Lakes out towards Southport
Theres the New Lancs VW VW Club at Garstang (who I've never visited but meant to when I remeber about them!) click here
Then theres a couple of lads out Clitheroe way who have had many write ups in the magazines about their imports and quality stuff.
If you let me know when you decide I'll keep an eye out locally.

Hello PNErivarge looking at 8-10k for a split, for that money im looking for a bus that will need work/paint but hopfully not a full rebuild. Interior is not a massive problem as my brother is an interior trimmer. I have also looked at early bays. But again they are top money and not that much less than a split. But nice splits/bays are 12k-14k+ easy, but i will be waiting for a while need to finish my mk1 1st.

Good luck in your search but TBH I do like tho look of A5OPY's new aquisition :redfaced:
Once he's dropped it, fitted some RMs and a 20vT conversion job's a good 'un
Did anyone see John Craven's splitty on CountryFile tonight? (bet Paul_c did  )
Always thought John Craven was cool, now I have the evidence
